My baby turns 2

So, I'm finally getting to posting again. And my little Ady has turned 2!! On her actual birthday, Grandpa came over for a few hours. He brought her a little puppy dog (not real one, of course), and had some dinner with us. Adam was off playing in a softball tournament, so it was just me, and Karson, Ady, and Grandpa. She loved her dog, she carried it around the house, and talked to it, and even made it sit in place (like we do to Molly). So cute. But she started falling asleep at dinner at the table and off to bed I sent her at 6pm with her new pup.
The day of the party, Dad got the finishing touches done on the kitchen, and I got the birthday party going. We started with eating. Chili cheese dogs with homemade chili. Then on to "make your own cupcake". I made a cupcake "bar" with little cups of toppings, 3 different flavors of cupcakes, and 3 different flavors of frosting. Super fun!!We then sang Happy Birthday and gave her GIANT cupcake for her cake (which she really didn't care less). Then off to pin the berry on the cupcake. Cousin Cammy won the game. While we played, Adam got the pinata ready, and off we went outside to destroy it :) It was actually a disappointment. It fell off the rope and yanked the top off with it, so we tried pulling the stings at the bottom to open it. All the strings gone, still no candy. Cousin Dalan ripped it open, and we watched the kids take over. Now it was time to open presents. She made out like a little bandit, play kitchen stuff galore, baby dolls, stoller, wiggle bike, pretty jewelry, clothes. This girl is one girly girl, and she was beside herself.
Everyone started to head home, but cousin Raelee just was having too much fun and wanted to stay (she LOVED the kitchen, which I think is now in the works for her Christmas :). She stayed all day and all night and all day the next day. Her, Karson, and Ady got to swing while Adam pushed, they played so well together and all had a wonderful time. It was super sweet.
Happy Birthday, my sweet angel. I love you, and I pray you had as much fun as I had doing it for you. (Although, I'm glad it's over). I took over 100 pics, so please enjoy :)

Karson Starts Kindergarten

So, my little boy is all grown up. He started kindergarten yesterday!! I started to cry when I ironed his clothes. Got myself together, and off we went. I did really good when we left, not one tear, but I had a HUGE lump in my throat!! I was really glad Adam was there to hold my hand, as we let Karson's go...
Karson, on the other hand, had no problem saying goodbye (which is how it should be). This made it alot easier for me. After school, he told us his favorite part of school that day was "All of it"
I love you Karson. I'm glad you like Kindergarten. Mom and Dad are very proud

Ok, so I took on this very involved project. :) I wanted to do it most by myself. But, if you know me, then you know that I procrastinate like crazy and don't care for messed up hands. So, with that, I enrolled Adam to help me. I have seen blogs in the past where they have taken an old entertainment center and turned it into a little play kitchen for their babes. This is what I'm doing now. It is not quite done, but oh so close. I'm sure I will continue to add as time goes by. Here are some before and during pics.

Here is the e-center before. At this point, however, Adam has alreay sanded it, taken it apart, and put it all back together, patched up some holes, and put a back on (this thing needed some serious work)

Then, we started painting. At this point, I was just want this thing done (her birthday is tomorrow). However, definetely should have listened to Adam when he said that we should prime it first. I wen to town with the pink, and the wood just kept soaking it in. About 3 coats later (on some areas), it is done with pink. (the hole in there is for the sink and faucet, heehee, so cute). Can you see the top of Ady's head? Remember, she's a tow-head!!

Adam thought it would be funny to take a pic of worn out tired mom. Look at that pink!!

More to come as we get further along....
